Handfasting is much like the modern marriage ceremony. It involves a solemn ritual presided over by a Priest or Priestess, the promising of two people to each other and a gathering of family and friends to witness and celebrate the union and its joy.
It’s called “Handfasting” based on the original Celtic tradition of binding the couple’s hands together during the ceremony, representing that they are not only bound together on their journey forward but are symbolically merged as one spirit. Not all Wiccan or Pagan traditions have adopted the binding of hands in their ceremonies, but as I come from a Celtic heritage, I include it in mine. And as I am also an ordained minister, the Handfastings I perform are legal.
Please contact me via this website if you would like a Handfasting. Several of the Readers listed in my Recommendations section are also ordained ministers and can perform legal, non-traditional ceremonies.
